About our Port Angeles concrete company

How I got into concrete
I ran a small landscaping business for years before I started pouring concrete in Port Angeles in 2017. I learned the trade beside a seasoned finisher on driveways and foundations, and I picked up the rest by asking a lot of questions. I still ask first. Before I say a word about concrete, I want to know what the space is for, because a patio for the grill and a slab that has to suit the floor going on top of it are different jobs.
What I care about most is what you can't see once the concrete's down, like the packed ground under the slab, the drainage and where the joints go. Poor-draining soil is very common in Port Angeles, so where the water runs matters here more than most people expect. That's the thinking behind our concrete contractor work in Port Angeles. If you'd rather understand what you're paying for than just sign a number, tell me about your job.
What it's like to work with us
The same person from estimate to pour
I come out myself to walk your site and write the estimate, and I'm on site with our crew when we do the work. What we talked about at the end of your driveway is what gets built.
Tricky jobs worked out first
We like a job with a catch, like a sloped lot, a cut by the street or a slab that has to suit the floor going on top of it. We work the problem out with you before anyone mixes concrete, so the hard thinking is done before the truck shows up.
An estimate you can compare
Your estimate is free, done on site and spells out what's included and what isn't, so you can line it up fairly against other bids. It also shows where the money goes, including the base work you won't see once it's poured.
Licensed, insured and ready for the city side
We're licensed and insured, and we look early at whether your work reaches city land, such as where a driveway meets the street or a public sidewalk. When a job needs a permit, we handle the paperwork with the city or help you get your questions to the city's permit staff.
What you'll notice on our jobs
Ask first
We start by asking how you'll use the space, because that decides how thick the slab is, how it's finished and where it drains.
Pack the base
We dig out soft soil and pack the subgrade, the ground your slab rests on, so the slab doesn't settle along with loose dirt later.
Follow the water
We check where water runs off your roof and yard and slope the slab away from the house, since water is slow to soak in around here.
Time the pour
We plan the pour to stay out of midday heat when we can, because concrete that dries too fast can leave a weak, dusty top.
Cut the joints
We cut control joints, shallow grooves that give the slab a place to crack, early enough that any cracks land where we chose.
